First time home buyers, up to $4000 land transfer rebate
If you are planning to purchase your first home in the new year you could be receiving an additional $2000 in rebates. As of January 1, 2017, the current land transfer tax rebate of $2000.00 will double to $4000.00. This means that first time home buyers will not pay land transfer tax on the first $366,000 of the cost of their homes.
